Jujutsu Kaisen returns with its third season in January 2026

Gege Akutami’s manga Jujutsu Kaisen (serialized in Shueisha from 2018 to 2024) returns to anime with its third season, titled The Culling Game. A new key visual launched on January 8, 2026 (Japan time) for this season’s broadcast. The plot picks up after the events of the “Shibuya Incident”: the protagonist sorcerers must face the consequences of a dangerous deadly game that threatens the balance of the world, according to the official trailer. The series is simulcast on Crunchyroll outside of Asia, allowing international fans to follow this new stage live.

The franchise already has previous material: its first season (2020-21) was followed by the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (released in December 2021), and the second season aired in 2023. In 2025, a compilation film (Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution) was released with previews of the third season. In addition, Akutami continued the story in the manga with Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (2025). With this new season, the series promises to intensify the supernatural action and explore the dilemmas of its characters in a world where curses and friendship clash relentlessly.
