Anime Chainsaw Man: second season confirmed after box office success
Date: December 22, 2025
MAPPA studio officially announced the second season of Chainsaw Man after the resounding success of the Reze Arc movie. This new season will adapt the International Assassins Arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original manga. The announcement included a trailer and previews, generating great excitement among fans.
According to the press release, the previously released film faithfully covered the Bomb Girl Arc and was “a worldwide box office success” with very positive reviews. With the second season, MAPPA seeks to capitalize on that global momentum. The protagonist Denji will return to the center of the story, facing international assassins, promising more action and suspense. The strategy of releasing the film first allowed the studio to attract new fans before returning to the series format.

Technical details: Chainsaw Man is an anime based on the Shueisha manga. The confirmed second season will continue the series produced by MAPPA, although it does not yet have a release date. The first trailer suggests the studio’s characteristic quality.

The announcement reinforces the relevance of Chainsaw Man in today’s anime landscape. MAPPA opted for a film to gain an audience, and now extends the story to the series format. This demonstrates the multi-platform strategy followed by the franchise: intense story, brutal action, and top-notch production. Fans of the manga are already looking forward to seeing how MAPPA’s animation brings this highly acclaimed new arc to life.
