Fate/strange Fake premieres its television adaptation in January 2026
The anime adaptation of Fate/strange Fake, a spin-off of the Fate franchise, will begin airing on January 3, 2026. The official announcement was made during Aniplex Online Fest 2025, confirming that studio A-1 Pictures (producer of Fate/Apocrypha) is directing the series, with Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume as chief directors.

The series is based on the Fate/strange Fake light novels, written by Ryōgo Narita (creator of Baccano! and Durarara!!) and illustrated by Shizuki Morii. These books have been published since January 10, 2015, under the Dengeki Bunko label (ASCII Media Works). The story transports the Holy Grail War to the United States, with independent magicians summoning Servants in a conflict that remained unfinished after a previous war. The project promises to expand the Fate universe with new elements and a fresh cast, combining supernatural action with mysteries unique to the saga.
The production is being handled by A-1 Pictures, with Shun Enokido (director of Fate/Grand Order) and Takahito Sakazume at the helm. Together, the team seeks to offer a television series that complements the special film Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn (2023) and satisfies fans of the series.
