Top 5 classic ecchi anime series
We review the classics that defined ecchi in anime. These older series set the standard for the genre.
1.Neon Genesis Evangelion: Although not purely ecchi, its risqué scenes and psychological trauma have placed it on lists of transgressive anime.

2.Highschool of the Dead: Combines zombies and extreme fanservice (a prototypical example of survival ecchi).

3.Yosuga no Sora: Lyrical and controversial, with family relationships and scenes that were very explicit for their time.

4.Sekirei: Romance and action from 2008 with numerous sensual outfits.

5.Gantz: Violent sci-fi with frequent nudity (ecchi/hardcore) mixed with psychological suspense.

Although influenced by their cultural context, these anime continue to have an impact. Evangelion stood out in its day (1995) for its introspection and accidental fanservice, changing the vision of mechas with psychological realism. H.O.T.D. brought battles against the infected to the beach and popularized clichés of girls in bikinis fighting (often cited as the epitome of ecchi in horror). Yosuga no Sora (2010) is remembered for its lo-fi and controversial approach, serving as a warning. Sekirei (2008) reinforced the soft harem-mecha model, while Gantz fused science fiction and terrifying eroticism (manga in 2000, anime in 2004).
These classic titles still provoke debate: to what extent can eroticism enhance the plot? The influence of these anime on otaku culture endures.
